Smart boards
I really prefer the rear projection boards to the front projection Smart boards. In a classroom with special education students there might be a danger of students, or teachers, tripping over cords or knocking the board and then having to reorient the board. A rear projection board might be worth the investment. Another solution would be mounting the projector on the ceiling.
I was also interested in the technology that Anne mentioned in class where the students have a wireless device to answer projected questions. I like that the data can be saved, analyzed and used for reteaching.

I also found the handheld devices to be quite interesting. As a math teacher I could simply ask them to try a question and have them enter in the answer. Then with a simple look at the screen I could tell what percentage of the class is getting it and who is not. This could all be done in an instant without students feeling embarrassed if they got it wrong. Great tool for quick student feedback and this is just one of its potential uses.

Nancy,
I was thinking the same thing about copying everyones power points so that I still know about the things that we learned in this course, even after it is over. Right now I am at the end of a master's program (plus 28 credits) so I am definitely on overload. It will be nice to reflect on this stuff that we learned after the course is over.

One of the good things about having assignments on Blackboard is that everyone can read them and the people who want them can copy and/or print them. Others don't need to, and that saves time and paper.

Yeah i agree it is def a better way to go with the rear projection. The ceiling mount is pretty good too, but i always get worried when i see a big chunk of metal hangin over one of my kids lol
